Child & Adolescent Therapy

Child and adolescent therapy in Jenison, MI

Support for children, teens, and the caregivers who love them.

Overview

Is this a phase, or something more?

If your child or teen is struggling, it can be hard to know what to do next. Anxiety, attention challenges, emotional outbursts, school refusal — these leave caregivers feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, and alone. You notice behavior changes, shifts in mood, or difficulty at school, and you wonder whether it will pass on its own.

We understand how deeply those questions affect families, and we are here to walk alongside you with clarity, compassion, and expert support. Our Jenison Pediatric Center expands access to specialized mental health care for children and adolescents, with therapy designed to meet young people where they are.

At the same time, we support the caregivers who love them — with guidance, education, and practical tools that keep healing going at home. You do not have to navigate this alone, and you do not have to wait to get help.

If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 right now, or go to your nearest emergency room. Therapy is for the long road — a crisis line is for tonight.

How we help

Developmentally appropriate, family-involved care

Children often show emotional distress through behavior rather than words. Our team helps kids build self-awareness, emotional tools, and confidence — while supporting caregivers with education and strategies that reinforce progress at home and school.

Our therapists use developmentally appropriate, evidence-based approaches to meet children and teens where they are emotionally and cognitively. Sessions are tailored to each child's age, personality, and needs, creating a safe space where they can express themselves, learn healthy coping skills, and grow in regulation, resilience, and connection.

We have a team of child and adolescent therapists with specialized training in pediatric care, and we thoughtfully match your child with the clinician best suited to their personality and needs. Through a trauma-informed, collaborative model, we create a supportive space for healing and growth.

Caregiver collaboration is central. We include you throughout the process with regular check-ins, resources, and strategies so you feel confident supporting your child outside of sessions.

Contact our office →
How young can a child start therapy?

We see children from about age four at our Jenison Pediatric Center. For young children the work is play-based, which is how they process and communicate at that stage.

Will I know what my child talks about?

You will be part of the process with regular check-ins and strategies to use at home. Teens are also given real confidentiality within legal limits, because that is what makes the work possible — your therapist will explain exactly where that line sits at the start.

What if my child does not want to go?

That is common and not a dealbreaker. The first session is low pressure and often shorter, and our clinicians are used to earning trust with kids who arrived unwillingly.

Do you coordinate with schools?

With your written consent, yes. We can talk with teachers, counselors, and IEP or 504 teams, and provide documentation where it helps.

Where do children get seen?

Children are seen at the Jenison Pediatric Center, 1915 Georgetown Center Dr, Suite 101 — a space set up for kids. Teens 13 and up can be seen there or at our main Jenison office.

Are you accepting new pediatric clients?

Yes. With multiple pediatric therapists on the team, we are able to offer timely appointments and flexible after-school scheduling.
