Good Faith Estimate
What it is, when we provide one, and how to request yours.
Last updated: August 2026
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
A Good Faith Estimate is a written document that shows the expected cost of the mental health services you plan to receive. It is required under the federal No Surprises Act for patients who are uninsured or who choose not to use their insurance ("self-pay" patients).
The estimate is not a bill — it is our best good-faith projection of what your care is likely to cost, based on the services we expect to provide.
When we provide one
If you are uninsured or are not using insurance to pay for your visits, we will provide a Good Faith Estimate before your first scheduled session, and again any time your treatment plan changes in a way that materially affects the expected cost. You may also request an estimate at any time — before scheduling, or during an active course of care — even if you have not yet booked an appointment.
What it includes
- The expected charges for the intake assessment and ongoing therapy sessions
- The diagnosis codes and service codes associated with your anticipated care
- The provider(s) and office location expected to deliver the services
- A good-faith projection of the frequency and duration of treatment, where reasonably known
Because therapy is individualized, the actual number of sessions and total cost may differ from the estimate as your treatment plan evolves — we will keep you informed of any changes.
