Psychological Testing & Diagnostic Assessments
Ever wish you had an instruction manual for how your brain works? While Karen can't promise an instruction manual, she can certainly help you better understand what's going on up there!
Karen brings more than 25 years of experience in psychology, counseling, and diagnostic testing to Hope & Healing Counseling. She specializes in psychological assessments for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, mood disorders, personality disorders, and other mental health concerns.
Karen understands that seeking psychological testing can feel overwhelming, especially when you've spent months or even years trying to figure out why you or your child may be struggling. Her goal is to make the process comfortable, informative, and maybe even a little enjoyable. With a warm personality, a down-to-earth approach, and a great sense of humor, Karen helps take some of the intimidation out of psychological testing.
Throughout her career, Karen has worked closely with individuals, families, physicians, schools, and other mental health professionals to provide comprehensive evaluations that offer more than just a diagnosis. She believes testing should give people answers they can actually use, whether that means finding the right treatment, identifying helpful school accommodations, exploring medication options, or simply gaining a better understanding of themselves.
Karen earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University and completed doctoral coursework in Counseling Psychology at Walden University. She is a Limited Licensed Psychologist in Michigan and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida.
Karen's philosophy is simple: Understanding how your brain works is the first step toward learning how to work with it, rather than against it. And sometimes, a little laughter along the way doesn't hurt either.
Whether you're searching for answers for yourself or someone you love, Karen is here to help make the process a little less confusing and a lot more encouraging.
