Trauma recovery
Trauma recovery starts here
Trauma is a widespread and costly public health issue, resulting from physically or emotionally harmful experiences. It affects not only individuals and families but entire communities. While some people move forward without significant disruption, others are deeply impacted by what they've lived through.
Emerging research shows the profound effects of trauma on our health — exposure can impair neurodevelopment and immune response, leading to a range of healthcare concerns. We provide compassionate, evidence-based care that addresses both the emotional and physical effects of trauma.
First responders program
Supporting our everyday heroes
Corrections officers, police, firefighters, nurses, and medical professionals face demanding roles with frequent exposure to trauma — often alongside a code of silence. Our clinical focus is built for you.
Trauma-informed care
Trauma-informed practices built for the cumulative stress first responders carry.
Confidential support
A safe, confidential space to explore emotions without fear of judgment.
Building resilience
Strengthening resilience so you can manage stress and stay well on the job.
Peer support
Connections with peers that foster community and shared understanding.
Holistic healing
Psychological, physical, and emotional well-being for comprehensive recovery.
Our commitment to you
Break the chains of silence
Silence can be a heavy burden, especially when it comes to mental health. We understand the profound impact that unspoken struggles can have on your well-being. If you have been suffering in silence and are ready to begin healing, we will walk alongside you every step of the way.
We provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share your story — and experienced therapists dedicated to helping you overcome the barriers that have kept you quiet.
Personalized therapy
A range of therapeutic modalities, including CBT and mindfulness practices, to support your healing journey.
Building trust
We prioritize open communication and empathy, so you feel comfortable and supported throughout your sessions.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Still have a question about starting therapy in West Michigan? We're happy to talk it through — no commitment.
How do I get started with therapy?
Use the Get started form or call us at (616) 209-8280. We will ask a few questions about what you are looking for, verify your insurance, and match you with a therapist whose specialty fits. Most new clients have a first session within 3–5 days.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept 13+ major plans including Michigan Medicaid, BCBS/BCN, Priority Health, Molina, Meridian, HAP, McLaren, Tricare, UHC/Optum/UMR, Aetna, ASR, Trinity Health Plans, and VACCN for veterans. We also accept Holon referrals. Contact us and we will verify your coverage before your first visit.
Do you offer virtual therapy?
Yes. Telehealth sessions are available to anyone physically located in Michigan, with the same therapists and the same care you would receive in the office. Many clients mix in-person and virtual sessions depending on their week.
What is trauma-informed care, exactly?
It means we assume trauma may be part of your story and design every part of care around safety, choice, and pace. You are never pushed to retell more than you want to. Our clinicians are trained to recognize how trauma shows up in the body as well as the mind.
Do you see children and teens?
Yes. The Pediatric Center in Jenison is dedicated to child and adolescent therapy, with after-school availability and support for parents and caregivers alongside the child.
What will my first session be like?
The first session is mostly listening. Your therapist will get to know what brought you in, what you have already tried, and what you want life to look like. Together you will set goals and agree on a plan — no pressure to have it all figured out.
