Life is hard. It can also be unfair. At different points in life, we all go through seasons that leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or exhausted. I want to provide a safe space where you can talk about those challenges openly and honestly.

My approach to counseling starts with curiosity. Every person has a unique story, and before we focus on solutions, I want to understand your world and the experiences that have shaped you. Clients often tell me they feel heard in our sessions, and I believe an important part of therapy is helping people recognize not only what’s wrong, but also what’s right with them.

My style is conversational, collaborative, and occasionally humorous. I may challenge you from time to time, but I do so with respect and the goal of helping you see things from a different perspective. The first few sessions are often spent getting to know your story because you’ve spent years building a life that deserves to be understood.

I often compare counseling to physical therapy. The work we do in session matters, but growth happens when you apply what you’re learning in everyday life. Therapy works best when we are both active participants in the process.

More than 30 years ago, I took a psychology class on a whim and immediately became fascinated by people’s stories. That curiosity has never left. Today, I still find myself interested in understanding people and honored to walk alongside them through life’s challenges.

My hope is that you leave counseling feeling less like you’re drowning and more confident in your ability to navigate whatever season of life you’re facing.
